Highly Migratory Species
Permit Holder Survey
You can read more about the questions that make up this survey, here.
The purpose of this interview directed toward HMS permit holders is to compile updated information on the capture of highly migratory and pelagic species. Said information will be gathered from sport fishermen in Puerto Rico.
Based on previous work on this particular fishery, it was determined that the information concerning fishing efforts during those fishing trips needs to be updated. In other words, there is a need to compile accurate information on the amount of time spent fishing, and on species captured. You may access the following web link to obtain data on the report concerning recreational fishing in Puerto Rico: http://www.countmyfish.noaa.gov/projects/index.html.
All individuals who solicited a HMS permit in the year 2011, and have their vessel registered in Puerto Rico will be selected for this telephone survey. A sub-sample of permit holders will be chosen every two weeks, and from this selection, Sea Grant personnel will proceed to call for interviews. Permit holders will receive a notification letter if chosen for an interview.
Your answers are completely confidential and the information collected in the survey will only be released following the requirements of the 1974 Privacy Act. |
