Marine Exhibits : Each exhibit covers one ocean or coastal theme. Exhibits consist of a colorful and informative panel as well as audiovisual materials, plastic models and educational activities that the teacher can use in his or her classroom. Exhibitions may be requested for use in the classroom by a teacher for one week. A $25.00 donation is required to cover the cost of replacement materials. Exhibitions are available from August to May.
The Beaches
This exhibit offers information about the characteristics of the beaches, their ecological processes, beach organisms and their adaptations, threats to the beaches and how we can collaborate to conserve the beaches of Puerto Rico. It comes with materials and activities to study the origen and composition of sand from different beaches, videos and Power Point presentaciones that will help the student to understand this ecosystem.
Marine Turtles
This exhibit teaches students about the species of marine turtles that visit Puerto Rico. In addition, they will learn about their biology, reproduction, threats and the conservation measures that are taking place for their protection. Through games, movies, presentations, models and educational activities, studants will learn about the different biological aspects of these species that are in danger of extinction. |
